Enjoying West Java on the Railway - Bandung Trip [1]

Last week is refreshing timeee.. I went to Bandung with my mom in a group of people. I'll tell the story in three separated post, so just wait.

We departed from Jakarta by train and come home by train too. Why do we choose train as our transportation mode?   In this case, train is not our mode of transportation, but our chosen way to enjoy West Java as a whole.
They have one coach painted with batik picture outside. Cool!
From my experience travelling to other province in Java, each province has their own unique characteristic and thus, resulted in different "best way" to enjoy the area to the fullest. In my opinion, Central and East Java is best be enjoyed by wheeled transportation; by car or bus. You can try North Coast Way (Pantura) and sightseeing the rich culture offered along the way. Yogyakarta is best be reach by wheeled transportation too, because there are lots of interesting city you can stop by in your way.

West Java is totally different. What makes it different is the landscape of the area. It consists of mountains mostly so the land road has to adjust itself to the landscape and so does the railway. Moreover, by using train, we can see the stunning view from above (the railway is higher than the road) and feel the breathtaking old fashioned railway and bridges from the Dutch colonialism era.

The most anticipated view

Cipularang Highway

Train also has red lights, *warning2
The tail of the train
Besides, you'll surely pass a tunnel, gives you a shortcut through a mountain. It's very long, I counted to 1 minute and 15 seconds using my stopwatch. If you use the time in second times the train's speed, you can get the length of the tunnel. *your homework :p
The Landscape
Mount Excavation ~_~
There also one valley that we pass on the way to and from Bandung, I call it "The Silent Valley". Becoz when we pass it, the world will turn into silent. There's only me and and ... the sound of my BB camera.
